Six Sentence Sunday: The bell above the shop door swings.

I always seem to have a googol-and-a-half writing projects going on at any one time…but I think that, out of all of my current ones, this one may just be my favourite. :)

Ergo, an opening snippet! Expect more (including explanations, though I will say that the project is magical realism) later, but for now, this will have to do. ♥

The bell above the shop door swings; heavy, slow.

Back, and forth, and back again, soundwaves barely making their way through the wet-thick summer air, and the shopkeeper smiles just as slowly in response as she turns.

A girl stands in the threshhold, her outline seeming to ripple with the heat, and she beckons her in.

Close the door behind you, then.

The girl does so, and tilts her head.
