Six Sentence Sunday: The bursts bloomed colours behind her eyes.

Another Six Sentence Sunday, and the Clockpunk Pied Piper project continues!

Hopefully it will even finally get a proper title sometime this month. :)

And ps — speaking of shiny project-related things happening this month, be on the lookout for something new beginning next Monday!

But for now, it’s still a secret. ;) So on to the Six!

Another sort of sound was lurking down beneath, weaving deftly through the scattering almost too softly for her human ears to hear, but occasionally flaring up and above it all in bright, beautiful bursts. The bursts bloomed colours behind her eyes, colours she had never seen before and had never even known existed, colours that she could not name.

That, more than anything, convinced her that there was at least one element of truth to this world, that it was not all a mere fever dream taking control of her mind. She was not clever enough to invent colours, not even while mad.

But she found herself quite glad to see them all the same, rather than being unsettled or afraid. They were queerly comforting, in a way, with their insistence that there was more to the world than what she knew.

  1. Really like this. Especially this: “…that it was not all a mere fever dream taking control of her mind. She was not clever enough to invent colours, not even while mad.”

  2. Beautifully written and intriguing. Love the way you weave a magical scene from her exciting discovery. Great six! I’m going to read the excerpts from the previous Sundays. :)
